Tutorial: Dracula Cape

Tutorial on how to make a Figma Sized Dracula Cape!

Firstly, select the figma you want to turn into a Vampire.

In my case, Kagami!

Ingredients!

Note: Wires used in Fake flowers are also needed.

1 ) Nice Boat the Selected figma to turn it into a headless Horse Figma.

2 ) Roughly trace the Outline of the cape on a scrap piece of paper, with the figma infront.

Wooo Cape!

3 ) Cut the Shape out and finalize the dimensions. (As long as it looks good, you are fine.)

Looking Good!

4 ) Mark your Paper cape onto a cloth and cut it out.

Headless Horse Lady grabs it!

It should look like:

Without the needles.

Now that your set,

5 ) Take the felt, cut it slightly smaller than the cape you’ve just cut. (Looks @ reference picture, there is a black border before the red inner cape.)

It should look:

Something like that.

6 ) Sew the inner cape, to the outer black portion of the cape.

7 ) Cut a small piece of the plastic file lay it, and cut it to the collar’s shape. This is going to be the backbone for the collar – enabling the collar to stand.

8 ) Similar to the Nekomimi’s Design, make a “Sandwich” with the plastic file in the middle.

9 ) Penetrate though all layers and sew it down.

10 ) Estimate the amount of ribbon that will enable the cape to suspend on the neck. (Similar to Apron tutorial) and sew it down.

Optional Steps

If you only intend to take the cape from the front, you do not need to do these.
11 ) Mark down another piece of cloth, to cover the stitches.

Look at those ugly stitches!

12 ) To allow the cape to bend and mold itself to the waist of the figma, add a strip of wire.

13 ) Sew it down like this:

14 ) Now using Black thread, sew the shape you cut out in Step 11 onto the cape in order to hide the wire and the ugly red stitches.

15 ) Do the same for the collar – Cover the ugly red threadings.

Yoku dekimashita! よくできました!

  4. You did an excellent job!

But I personally prefer if the collar were to be larger – In terms of both width and height.

lol So that’s how Tsukasa turn into a vampire.

My approach for a cape is much different though. I cut out a circle shape from a cloth, cut a small quarter out and sew the wires in. Did that for my Drossel ojou-sama. ^^

  12. Not quite… You don’t turn into Vampire by letting a ampire drinking your blood…

You’ll only become a Vampire when it sire you with its essence…
